a new model of care, a new paradigm
When the world feels urgent, there is an even greater need to slow down, breathe, and come into presence.
EXPLORE
We live in turbulent and uncertain times. Many feel isolated, overwhelmed, and spiritually unmoored. When the world feels urgent, there is an even greater need to slow down, breathe, come into presence.
The HEARTh offers a new paradigm of care for these times. We seek to build a beloved community of support that inspires deep reflection, spiritual growth, and creative social engagement — an ecological model of care that is affordable and sustainable.
Increasingly, people are seeking new ways to engage spiritually and continue the path of growth, transformation, and contribution. We are eager to support this fundamental drive for good.
This is the Both/And time.
Strengthening the inner reserve is essential —
so too is the work of building community.

Scope & boundaries
The HEARTh is a spiritual companioning model and does not provide clinical mental health services or support. This is not a substitute for therapy or psychiatric care.
While we honor the role of psychological wellness as the necessary foundation for a maturing spiritual life, we do not address foundational clinical issues within the scope of our services. Members experiencing mental health challenges will be asked to seek appropriate clinical support.
Our services are not insurance reimbursable. We do not offer crisis services, 24/7 availability, diagnosis, or mental health services.
The People
The hearts behind The HEARTh
The HEARTh is guided by experienced practitioners in the fields of contemplative practice, psychological depth work, and spiritual accompaniment — and supported by a small circle of trained facilitators who share its mission and spirit.

Therese Bimka
Co-Visionary & Spiritual Companion
Therese Bimka, LCSW-R, is a wisdom-based psychotherapist, spiritual director, educator, retreat leader, and community builder whose work integrates psychology, spirituality, creativity, and contemplative practice. For more than three decades, she has accompanied individuals and groups through life’s transitions and challenges, helping people cultivate greater authenticity, resilience, meaning, and connection. Her passion for understanding the human condition led her into the study of psychology, trauma, spirituality, and healing. Therese sees a clear trajectory in her life: artist, teacher, community builder, psychotherapist, and minister. Each chapter grew organically from the one before it, guided by a lifelong fascination with human development, creativity, healing, and transformation. Across all these pursuits runs a common thread: a devotion to helping people discover their innate capacity for growth, wisdom, and wholeness. Early on, teaching emerged as one of Therese’s core archetypes and remains at the heart of her service. Therese was part of the founding staff of the renowned Brooklyn New School (1987–1993), where she helped pioneer a child-centered, thematic, project-based curriculum. Over the years, she has designed curriculum for children, adults, coaches, mental health professionals, healers and spiritual seekers. In 2008, Therese completed her interspiritual training and ordination through One Spirit Interfaith Alliance and continues to deepen her own spiritual path through contemplative practice, nature-based spirituality, Buddhist teachings, the Divine Feminine, and the world’s mystical traditions. For Therese, spirituality is a lived relationship with mystery, presence, and the sacred dimensions of life fueled by love and service. Two years after ordination, Therese was invited to become the Director of the Interspiritual Counseling Program at One Spirit Interfaith Alliance (2011-2021) where she developed a robust 2 year training program. Her own teaching included the development of 80+ presentations which emerged from more that 40 years postgraduate training including: Jungian Sandplay Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, Somatic Experiencing, Buddhist Psychology, mindfulness meditation, expressive arts, guided imagery, SoulCollage®, restorative justice, and the study of collective trauma with Thomas Hübl. A seasoned retreat leader, Therese has facilitated workshops and retreats for educational institutions, government agencies, congregations, training institutes, nonprofits, and community organizations. Her work has taken her throughout the United States and internationally, including leading spiritual pilgrimages to the sacred sites of India, the ancient Goddess Temples of Malta, and the White Lions of Timbavati. Since 2020, Therese has collaborated closely with the Dharmakaya Center for Wellbeing and was recruited to design and coordinate retreats and programs for populations that are typically underserved. These have included free programs for frontline workers responding to the opioid crisis, veterans, healers, and the BIPOC Leadership Weekend, now in its sixth year. When the Covid-19 pandemic began, Therese launched a daily meditation gathering to help people remain connected during a time of profound uncertainty. Now in its sixth year, this ongoing practice continues with a team of ministers and healers and serves as a living expression of her belief in the power of community, contemplative practice, and spiritual companionship. Today, whether working as a psychotherapist, spiritual director, educator, retreat leader, artist, or community organizer, Therese’s intention remains the same: to create spaces where people can uncover their fundamental wholeness, deepen their understanding of our profound interconnectedness, and live with greater wisdom, compassion, purpose, and love. www.theresebimka.com

Annie spent the first sixteen years of her career as a psychotherapist, specializing in the integration of physical, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual well-being. She developed expertise in human physiology and its relationship to stress, resilience, healing, and performance. She later completed postgraduate training through the Sanctuary Institute, an evidence-based approach to creating trauma-informed and life-affirming cultures and communities. For more than a decade, Annie worked with The Energy Project, helping to develop and deliver programs focused on the four dimensions of human energy—physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual. She is the co-author of Leading with Wisdom and Compassion, a leadership development curriculum designed to help leaders cultivate greater awareness, resilience, and humanity. She is passionate about inspiring corporate leaders to be a force for good in the world. At the heart of Annie's work is a simple belief: every person possesses an innate capacity for wisdom regarding their own healing. She accompanies her clients as they connect with what matters most so that they can live with greater authenticity, purpose, and peace.
